We are a different International School that is one of a growing number of forward-thinking learning communities around the world that is re-imagining education for the 21st Century. In addition to providing excellent academics, it also fosters those skills and human qualities that children will need to become happy and successful global citizens of the future.
Mont 21 provides an authentic Montessori education for children aged 3 to 5 as found in approximately 25,000 schools around the world where they not only obtain a firm foundation for later academic learning, but also personal, social and emotionally development including independence, confidence, self-esteem and a love of learning.
Whilst Montessori pedagogy was created over 100 years ago, there are many elements that have close synergy to forward-thinking learning methods that are being used in many leading schools around the world. These include freedom of choice (within limits), autonomy, personalised and real-life, hands-on learning and fostering success skills of critical thinking/problem solving, collaboration, creativity, adaptability and resilience.
It is therefore our belief that as well as following many aspects of traditional Montessori pedagogy in the primary and secondary years, it is also possible to incorporate progressive methodologies that children need today. This includes following a national curriculum or the International Baccalaureate programme that provides a qualification which currently remains a minimum requisite for employers and entry into university.
The construction of a new purpose built, zero carbon green campus, planned to open September 2023, will enable students to learn about the importance of sustainability and custodianship of the planet.
Similar to mainstream International Schools, we are authorised by The National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS) to ensure the highest standards of education.
